Steel Roof Build-up (lag the frame)

The friction blanket goes on the bottom, touching the roof. Timbers are on top of the blanket. The mount rests on the timbers and should not touch the ribs of the roof. The mount needs to be screwed to the timbers so it can't slide on the wood (especially treated lumber in the rain!). Hughes specs call for 3 timbers for a 4x4 NPM, one each on the outsides and one in the middle. I will use 5 if the roof has some pitch to it. Hughes specs call for 5 to 6 foot boards. The 4" side should be down when using 2x4's.
