What's anyone using for wallplates for multi hdmi/component/sat feed/phoneline?

Just did a plasma with 2 HDMI & 2 Component cables fished to the tv, with 4 coax and a phone line coming in through the same hole from the crawl space for satellite and off-air. I haven't been able to find any plates that would take care of this. What we've been using is a "modified" vent mount, from the C-Band ribbon cable days. These work ok when there's a stand in front of the hole, but I've got one coming up where the stand is just an antique wooden table with just legs(you can see the wall below the stand).

Any thoughts?

Dow recently started selling a double gang hood that is like a ribbon cable plate from the c-band days on steroids. I have used there similar single gang ribbon plates for a couple of years now. Have to open up the hole sometimes, though.

Same thing i use (dow bought hoods). I also sometimes have to take a pair of snips and cut the hood a tad at the bottom for multiple wires (OR i might add.. if i screw up and put the conn's. on first not thinking Lmao .)

I use them at upper and lower penetrations both on wall mts.. I try to hit in a slot of the Tv mt to where the hood fits there also. (i just think it looks nicer even though they'll never see it. to much )

The hoods ya cant beat em and saves connectors lol.

Only scene pic in a catalog of the double "hood scoops" though never purchased any. Sounds like ANt man needs a Big Hole for real in this case
especially,, so that may be a "good 'n pretty" way out for him (dbl Dow hoods)

Go to MilesTek, Niles and OEM for your plates and module needs. They have all assorted parts to do what you need.

You can use cat5 or cat6 wire and use Niles baluns for a custom clean install.
Make some money too!

I am not in the shop until Tuesday and if you need further info, I can help you then thru PM.

Is it just a single gang hole? I will use the Leviton plates with the modular holes and snap ins. What I can't terminate (hdmi) I just pull through the empty holes. You can also get the decora type of plate and just pull all your wire through the big hole. It doesn't look completely "finished" but does look better than a big gaping hole.

Levitron plates cost too much.

If you want to drill holes in any wallplates, be sure to use flat, spade bits rather than twist bits, because twist bits are more likely to crack the plastic.

Levitron plates cost too much.

Buy em at Home Depot and charge 20% to the customer. Home Depot sells them for less than I can buy from AVAD.

Here is one,
CATV drop boxes. They are also called enclosures and project boxes. Cut a hole in the sheet rock smaller than the box. Screw one side into the stud and anchor the other side to the sheet rock you didn't cut away. all the wire comes out of the wall and down the bottom of the box to the set. Quick tie the bundle of lines to the tv / entertainment cntr.

Let the interior decorator pick a paint tone for the box while you hold the poodle.
