I have been contracting to the cable guys doing MDU work for years( dont hate me) got fede up with the BS that goes along with dealing with cable MSO's. and started installing CCTV, and doing information technology work all over the country. and frankly I miss MDU work and decided to start looking for a good MDU prewire job. I found it pretty much have a lock on it. But i dont want to screw myself or my customer on the quote. when i was doing prewire with the cable co's it was a different world on bidding. and honestly guys I dont want to blow it. these guys I am dealing with build apartment complexes all over the country. And I want this to be long term. Any help will be greatly appreciated. specs are 98 units 120,000sqft total all are 2 story bldgs 1 story apts.

Not enough information. Are you talking just the price for the drops? Are you including trim out? Just labor? Headend work?

I bid a job for $45/drop 125 drops with wall trim for phone, cable and LAN and I broke even. The labor was more than I expected because my guys weren.t real sauvy pre wire guys. The next job was a little bigger and I got $75/drop. It was competitive too but we got it and made money.

PM me if want.

I agree that $45 is probably too low to run the cables unless maybe it's ONLY RG-6 coax. I would certainly try to get the whole job (phone and building-wide Ethernet), too.

If you've never done any twisted-pair work, it's not hard, but there ARE some considerations. If you need it, there'll be help here.

thanks guys! this job is coax only. and yeah i am doing the prewire , and the trimout. i tried for the data but this is low budget housing, no data, and the phone was done by the elec guy. there is no dsl available in the area only cable supplied high speed. at this time its just from the tap out i am trying to get something setup with cox to let me do the underground hardline. but havent got that worked out yet. I can do the underground conduit from tap to tap. You know how it is dealing with those aholes. Basically thats it. a footage price for the conduit from pedestal to pedestal. and coax only from the tap to the faceplate.
