That's because some business owners are taken advantage and misleading the consumers. I put it to people very simply... do you use a house antenna? Nope, then don't worry about it.

I have had those people come in and argue with me.... Joel I have used your like also (very similar to what you have posted)

The response is usually, "but the TV said I wouldn't get to use my TV after Feb if I don't buy this box", my response - Do you have a TV antenna? Rabbit ears? Or, do you have Satellite or Cable? Usually the answer is satellite but they insist that they have to have the converter box... I usually stop arguing, you know the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT! I make money and then tell them that if they have any problems hooking it up to call the number on the box for support. - let tech support explain to them that they don't need that box, I tried to tell them but they all know it all
